Description

One of my new year's resolutions was to draw something new every week, completed or not, just to draw something. This week I decided to work on the characters for my upcoming project, Mortal Life. They are, from left to right: Reina, June (real name Junko, but she doesn't like it), and Natsuko. These are their school uniforms and general character heights. For Reina and Natsuko I wanted to do a throwback to old school anime with funky hair colors.

I was also trying out my new marker paper. The colors aren't as smooth as I would have liked, but I've read about some techniques to help with that so I'll try that next time. I want to get good with traditional methods, something else on my to do list this year. This was actually the second line art. The first I did on the wrong side of the paper and didn't realize it until I started coloring and the ink wouldn't absorb! Lesson learned!
