Quentin and Beth sketch

Ah, my Dark Shadows fandow rises again!

Here is a sketch of Quentin Collins & Beth Chavez that I am working on. In the show the two characters showed up originally as a pair of sinister ghosts. Later after Barnabas Collins (a 'for-the-moment' cured vampire from 1795 posing as his own ancestor) went back in time to 1897 it was revealed that Quentin and Beth had a backstairs romance going on. Quentin was eventually cursed with lycanthropy (werewolf-ism) for protecting Beth from his crazed wife after she found the two of them together. He strangled her and her gypsy sister took revenge on him by cursing him.

The story only got wilder from there which made insanely fun entertainment... immortal Counts searching for their disembodied hands (ala the Mokey's paw it granted wishes sometimes and curses others), a phoenix woman who tried to drag her children into the fire with her, a couple more vampires, ghosts up the butt, ex-cons who read to much Edgar Allen Poe, showgirls and gypsies running amok, possessions, a hypocritical Reverend and his plot to murder his wife and marry into the riches of the Collins family, a satanic lawyer who (with Quentin's help) conjures up a witch from Hell (Angelique, who KICKS ASS)... half the cast gets murdered in this storyline alone.

This show is just too much fun sometimes. The ghostly storyline of Quentin & Beth has always been my favorite though. It's inspired by Turn of the Screw, and is very dark and creepy.

Anyway, here is the sketch. I will work on coloring it sometime soon.
